Anderson Takes Delivery of the First Sany Crawler Crane in the UK
York-based Anderson Crane Hire placed the first order and the machine is currently at Watson and Hillhouse's head office in Ipswich being readied for delivery.
The SCC500D has extendable tracks giving a working width of 4.40 metres and a 3.30 metre width for transport. Main boom has a maximum length of 52 metres with a maximum lift capacity of 55 tonnes at 3.7 metres. With maximum boom the unit can lift 0.7 tonnes at 34 metres.
Maximum length fly jib is 15.25 metres and when used with a 43 metre main boom, gives a maximum lift of 3.2 tonnes to a height of about 57 metres.
The Anderson crane was ready for delivery in the UK five months after placing the order. Short delivery times combined with a competitive price is obviously an attraction. Reliability remains to be seen, but the cranes use Cummins engines with either Rexroth or Kawasaki hydraulic systems.

Sany has also set up a parts centre in Belgium with an assembly plant scheduled to be built either in Germany or Belgium.
Watson and Hillhouse will also carry parts and combined with its in-house service engineers, will provide a full machine back-up in the UK and Northern Ireland.
The Crane went straight to work at the new JCB factory extension at Uttoxeter, erecting steel.
